Peels, Moisture, Wrinkles and Lines

How often may I have Peels done on my face?

Peels enhance the effectiveness of your home care products. If you have normal or dry skin, you should use our peels at least once every seven to ten days in the winter and once a week in the summer. If you have oily or acne skin, you may use the peels once every five days year round. The duration and strength of the peel should be adjusted for your particular skin. If you are using our At Home Peels, Micro Peels or Mini Facials we will gladly furnish you with complete information for your program. Peels enhance the effects of your Smoothing Cream or Smoothing Gel and help to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, discoloration, scarring, pore size and rough or uneven skin texture. As with any program for complete skin care you must use a minimum of SPF 25 so that you do not acquire any new, unattractive damage on your skin.  Without SPF, you will diminish the results you get from At Home Peels, MSSR Liquid, Firming and Brightening Crème, Zit Zapper and Smoothing Gel or Smoothing Cream.

What is a Moisturizer?

A moisturizer is really a Hydrator, which puts moisture back into dehydrated skin lacking surface moisture. Moisturizers do not work effectively unless they have been hydrolyzed. A true Hydrator is not a cream or a lotion, but a combination of oil, water and/or glycerin that has been Hydrolyzed so that its molecules are small enough to penetrate the surface of your skin, the stratum corneum. When a Hydrator is properly formulated, your skin will not feel dry, tight or oily as the day wears on. A Hydrator may be an Emulsion or creamy feeling gel.

If a Cream is not a Moisturizer, then what is it and what does it do?

Creams contain lipids or oils, which cannot penetrate the surface of your skin because their molecules are too large in their natural state. A cream is a Sealant used after a Hydrator, which coats the skin and seals in the moisture. The exception would be a Hydrolyzed cream such as Gelloid, MSSR Hydrating Moisture Mask, Firming and Brightening Crème or Smoothing Cream which have had their molecules altered to a much smaller size enabling them to enter the surface of your skin to do their work.

Why is Exfoliation so important for my skin?

Exfoliation, when done gently twice a day, improves the texture, color, and appearance of the skin by over 25%. It is the single most important step you may do to improve the results of your skin care products, especially Smoothing Cream or Smoothing Gel, MSSR Liquid, Zit Zapper, Retina, Retina Micro, Renova, Fix Zit and Miracle Zit. Don't forget to use the residue of all of your products, (Corrective Grains, Facial Shampoo, Smoothing Cream or Smoothing Gel, MSSR Liquid, SPF 25 and Gelloid or MSSR Hydrating Moisture Mask) on the backs of your hands twice a day to keep them as healthy and flawless looking as your face.

What are Wrinkles and Lines and how do they form?

A Wrinkle is a mature line imbedded deeply in the work areas of the face; mouth, eyes, nasal labial fold and forehead. A Line is an immature wrinkle waiting to mature and become a Wrinkle. Wrinkles and lines form due to two factors: your Genetic Disposition (gene pool) and Sun Damage.

Wrinkles and lines are appearing much earlier now because of the increase in exposure to the sun's UVA rays on a daily basis.  They used to appear in the late 30's or early 40's as light crow’s feet around the eyes, horizontal lines across the forehead and vertical lines on the upper lip. Now, however, they are showing up in the late 20's on very fair individuals who have not worn SPF 25 (which protects against both UVA and UVB rays) on a daily basis. Generally speaking, the fairer one is, the sooner wrinkles and lines appear. As long as you only wear sun block when you are going "out in the sun" and not on a daily basis even if cloudy, raining or snowing, you will continue to age more quickly. This is why products like Retina, Renova, Avita, Bleaching Lotion with Kojic Acid, 12 & 20% Smoothing Cream and 20% Smoothing Gel are so popular.

Wrinkles and lines also occur depending on one’s weight. Obese individuals appear to have less wrinkles and lines because they have more fat to push up the skin. The bottom line is to become "sun smart" and wear your SPF 25 every day with a hat or visor.
