BIOGRAPHY
SKIN TYPE
Very sensitive and allergic, especially to comedogenic ingredients. Prone to cystic acne
during periods of high stress. Olive tone complexion.
TRAINING
At the ACNE RESEARCH INSTITUTE Barbara worked with physicians learning anatomy,
cosmetic chemistry, and skin structure and function. She worked with MD's, PhD's, and
cosmetic chemists helping to formulate skin care products. Barbara holds a license in both
cosmetology and esthetics.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Barbara Strickland was chosen from over a thousand applicants to be part of ESTHETICS
AMERICA because of her knowledge and understanding of acne and skin care. Once inducted
into ESTHETICS MISSOURI, an organization that educates, certifies, and trains
estheticians, Barbara was recruited to become its first Director of Esthetics. She played
a significant role in the educational standards and developed the testing program for
admission. Barbara founded the ADVANCED ESTHETIC TRAINING INSTITUTE to train future
estheticians and coined the title, "Paramedical Esthetician." She has educated
physicians and estheticians all over the United States.
EXPERIENCE
Barbara opened the Sage Skin Care Clinic in 1982, often treating 12 to 14 clients a
day. While her products have been available to her clinic clients for quite some time, it
is only since 1998 that Barbara introduced her products internationally through the World
Wide Web.
THE REASON
Many people have asked Barbara, "Why skin care?" Barbara admits her first
love was cooking. After studying in France and England, she became a professional chef.
Barbara thought that skin care should be approached like cooking. Use the freshest and
best ingredients available to render the best results. Then custom formulate them for each
individual's needs. An idea was born, and then a company!
